D-Day

We borrowed an icon for today's blog post title.  No, we're no invading Normandy today, but it's a Red Letter Dental Day for Susun.  She's going to have another round of invasive oral surgery today.  You know it's a D-Day when they plan to use a total anesthetic.  I take her out to the Doctor about 8:30 am.  She sure has a great attitude about all this dental stuff.  She's been great about it ever since the first operation in early July.  She's a real inspiration to watch as she deal and copes with all these various dental procedures.  We're all pulling for you, Honey!

Not much to report from River City.  Susun spent the day in our pop top Skamper and it's mostly ready to roll to City of Rocks.  The weather forecasts for that tentative trip have become progressively more "dicey" during the last few days.  At this point, we have a green light to go since the weather is looking better for the Friday through Monday time period.  However, here is what is prognosticated for this week:

EXPECT 1 TO 2 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION AT HIGHER ELEVATION WITH 1/4
INCH TO 3/4 INCH OF PRECIPITATION ACROSS LOWER ELEVATIONS LATE
MONDAY THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY. EXPECT SIGNIFICANT SNOW FALL ABOVE
8500 FT WITH 6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE LATE TUESDAY THROUGH
 FRIDAY MORNING.

Any slight change in how long the low lingers will have a big impact on wondering whether the weather will let us wander.

Goatherder had a Dear Diary Day yesterday.  We will let him craft it into a blog post. The part we can tell you about is that he bought a "new" truck--a 1993 Toyota pickup.  Real spiff rig.  Now he has to sell his old beater Suzuki Sidekick, the one that was converted into a Goat Condo for the past 5 generations of goats.  We told him to sell it "as is" in hopes that someone would need the aromatherapy and ambiance of vehicle filled with hay, straw and goat droppings.  Good Luck, GH!

We learned this morning that our neighbor, Jana S. has begun blogging.  You can click here to check out her new blog.  Jana was one of our very first LBRs.  She started reading the blog back when practically nobody else read it.  Now her husband, Matt, reads it, too.  Thanks, Jana & Matt!  We wish Jana great success as a blogger and are eagerly awaiting to read whatever she decides to post.  You GO, Girl!

Have a great day & Many Cheers!  jp
